In May 2016, The State Council issued the "Soil Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan" (referred to as the "Ten Soil Pollution Measures"), focusing on improving soil environmental quality, ensuring the quality of agricultural products and the safety of human settlements as the starting point, insisting on prevention first, protection priority, risk management and control, and implementing classified, differentiated, and phased treatment. It is necessary to form a soil pollution prevention and control system with government leadership, enterprise responsibility, public participation and social supervision to promote the sustainable use of soil resources.

 

                            How does it work?

  • Second, promote soil pollution prevention and control legislation, and establish a sound system of regulations and standards

Example:

     Zhejiang Taizhou invested more than 6 billion yuan to relocate all 38 scrap metal dismantling enterprises in the city into Taizhou metal resource recycling industry base. At present, the recycling rate of the base is more than 95%, the amount of waste generated only accounts for 1.9% of the total annual dismantling, and the amount of hazardous waste such as waste circuit boards accounts for only 1.79‰, so as to prevent the disassembly waste from leaking out of the park and causing pollution.
