一、意思不同
another：又一；再一；另一（事物或人）；另一；不同的（人或事物）；类似的（人或事物）。
the other：他者；另一个；其他。
二、用法不同
another：another用作形容词的基本意思是“（又）另一个的”，主要指同类中又多一（个）的或与前述不同的另一个的，在句中只用作定语。
another后常接单数可数名词，但当复数名词前有基数词或few时，也可用another修饰。
the other：指特定的某人或某物之外的“另一个”“剩下的”。
用在the或形容词性物主代词之后时，与单数名词连用表示“（两个中的）另一个”， 与复数名词连用表示某一集体中“其余的，剩下的（人或物）”。
